MY STORY

Ann

Hi!  My name is Ann, and I love to organize!  I’ve always enjoyed creating spaces that maximize function with form.  Growing up, we moved countries twice, leaving family and friends both times, resulting in strong attachments to things as memories. Along the way, I have explored many hobbies that came with stuff:  sewing, cooking, photography, gardening, while simultaneously living in small spaces.  And then, I became an enthusiastic and over-achieving speech-language pathologist and proceeded to acquire a LOT more stuff.

There’s a lot to be said for living simply, and there is also nothing wrong with exploring all the things either….  Until the stuff is hard to find or access because it’s at the bottom of 6 large, heavy boxes, or when the stuff becomes distracting and anxiety-provoking.  Now there’s a problem.

DECLUTTERING

Most jobs will include some or all of the following

  • Recycling
  • Garbage
  • Donate
  • Give to family or friends
  • Prep for garage or estate sale
  • Sell online or via other means

Letting go can be very difficult.  The “What if I need it down the road?” challenge is real. Or, when it comes to loved ones and cherished objects, how much is enough to remember?  These decisions are tough. 

ORGANIZING

I work with what you’ve got in terms of storage containers and spaces, but if additional materials are needed or wanted we will figure it out together. 

HARMONIZING

When we are overwhelmed it is difficult to think clearly.  Stress raises cortisol in our bodies and decreases access to our thinking brain, the part that imagines, sets goals and creates plans.  Decluttering and organizing our living or working spaces is an important part of a comprehensive approach to optimizing our mental health and productivity.  Additionally, if you are a family learning to live with disabilities or developmental differences, environmental supports can play a significant role in harmonizing your home to meet everyone’s individual needs.

Initial Consult (1 hour, free)

I visit you to see your home and see what you’ve got and your spaces.

We chat:  I get to know you, your goals, what is or isn’t working well

We strategize and lay out a basic plan of action (Individualized Organization Plan!).

Coaching

After the initial consult, we schedule check-ins to celebrate progress, solve problems, generate solutions, and outline next steps. I am the kick in your pants to get you moving and keep you going!

Teamwork

All of the above, plus I help do the work. I can either work mostly alone with a lot of check-ins along the way, or we work as a team.  Either way, together we decide what goes where.
